On Tuesday 31st January 2017 our class joined Ms. Callinan's 5th class and the boys' choir from OLV to celebrate the Laudate Festival in Our Lady of Victories Church. The aim of this special evening was to establish a core set of hymns that both children and parishioners would enjoy and be able to sing together. We practised for some months prior to the night itself, and so we were able to sing our hearts out during the performance! We sang 18 songs in total!! Here are some photos of us as we prepare to join all the other schools in a wonderful celebration.
On Tuesday 24th January 2017 we went on a very exciting trip! Along with Ms. Ferriter and Ms. Crowe we took Dublin Bus into town to visit The National Museum of Ireland and the Natural History Museum. Brendan, our bus driver, dropped us off on Kildare Street...right at the door of our first museum!
We saw artefacts from the Bronze Age, the Celts and the Vikings. We also saw some Ancient Egyptian remains! After a hearty lunch in the nearby park (and a play on the swings!) we moved on to examine the "stuffed animals" in the Natural History Museum. We couldn't believe the array of wildlife on display. Once we had completed our quiz it was time to return to school. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our excursion! |
